Yeah that's why he didn't grow his hair out, he wanted to redeem Obito's image as well

his resolve was physically shaking the whole fight and he was trying to confirm if his was the correct path. i dont think he understood his feelings being a psychopath.

No; Obito didn't want redemption because he knew it wasn't possible. His actions were not capable of being redeemed nor forgotten, and he even labelled himself as a criminal after Naruto TnJed him. Though, Obito did want Naruto to bring back his former-self because there was a part of him that is filled with regrets.
