[Discussion] Police/cop hate.. over done.. over used.. annoying

-sigh-. Man, i really think this is a topic to be discussed, and i would have it that the mods don't close this thread.

THIS THREAD IS NOT JUSTIFYING ANY "HORRIBLE ACTS" DONE BY SPECIFIC INDIVIDUALS WHEN THEY WERE WEARING THE UNIFORM OF THE POLICE.

THIS THREAD IS A SIMPLE DISCUSSION ON THOSE COPS WHO DO THEIR JOBS AND GET BASHED ON DUE TO CERTAIN IDIOCY IN THE PUBLIC.


Reason for discussion:


So I have been debating on youtube/yahoo/ and other websites. About the unneeded cop hate. I have seen too many comments like:
- "**** the pigs"
- "screw pigs"
- "pigs should be killed"
- "cops are ruining society".

All these comments. Are they needed? Are they any good? Is this hate any good? Why does it occur?


My Opinion:

Firstly, I do not find this "police hate".. any more justifiable than having "race hate".. In the end you are bashing a group of people, based on the actions of the few. So to further get into depth regarding this topic.. lets actually see what a cop is.

Police : the civil force of a national or local government, responsible for the prevention and detection of crime and the maintenance of public order.

Civil: -of or relating to the people who live in a country.
-of, relating to, or involving the general public, their activities, needs, or ways, or civic affairs as distinguished from special (as military or religious) affairs


For those who didn't get it by just the definition.. cops are nothing more than people like you and me, who are simply going to enforce the law. Meaning, if cops are "corrupted".. It does not mean "only cops are corrupted", it means the "Society is corrupted". Ok. The corruption of a civil force, will only be the reflection of the corruption in society. If the society is maintained with correct morals (that people want the police to apply), then there won't be any corruption in "government" or "cops" (talking about only democracy here).

Now the regular perception of a cop that i see from people who bash cops is " fat bastards eating donuts".. really?

These are simple statistics. However, do you know the number of lives ruined by these "small numbers" of incidents? of course we don't.. I mean not like these cops had families to support. Not like some of them had kids. Not like they were doing their job right?

However, what pisses me off is the fact that people want to talk about "screw the cops" "nothing more than pigs".. while not even experiencing that life. Try losing 3 members of your family in the same ****in year, because they were trying to stop some idiots who thought it was ok to just go around and have shoot outs. Or go around and rob houses. And then you see videos where cops who were doing their jobs, are being bashed, and the ****ing idiots want to defend criminals, who shouldn't be attempting the things they are attempting. Why? Corruption of society.


So why do people think, that cops work outside of the society? Why are people not saying their family is corrupt? Why are people not acknowledging the culture of ours where "gangs" are partially being promoted? Why are people so blindly want to bash on a specific group without having full knowledge on the situation?

Am I saying the whole department is righteous? no. Am I saying all cops are innocents? no. What I'm saying is bash on the individuals who do those acts, instead of the whole department.

I mean whats more funny is when people break the law a logical law, and talk about their "rights". See alot of criminals in the jails want to talk about their "rights".... however hardly any of them wants to be responsible for their "duties" to society.

So with that said, this is my opinion and my point of view on the pointless bashing on cops. (This is also shown in Naruto-verse and etc).

Well, I don't think that police should be armed with lethal objects. I also think that any cop team should be interacial. There are many ways to prevent the tyranny and brutality that cops give

And hell no, bashing cops is like going to a shark's glass in an aquarium, then trying to break the b*tch because it gained a crack.
I can understand when it's based around an individual, but once they start start spouting things like
"Cops really aren't achieving anything" or "The police cause lots of violence" that's when I declare whoever made that shit a dumbass.

Ah, and when they start spouting comments like that, I get quite the skewered feeling...

I honestly agree with you. People truly seem to think cops are super humans or something but they are just normal people like each and every one of us.

I mean by now its a known fact there are many GANGSTERS amongst "police". I mean hell alot of police officers get blackmailed.. alot of them get threatened via threats to their families... but still haven't seen people talk about this .. no clue why.

No but neither is killing homeless and regular people, bullying whole communities. In LA and Texas their like gangs.

Cops even abuse their power in ways that aren't as bad as well but still annoying as well. In other countries they're corrupt government hound dogs.

But whose protecting it for a pay check? In countries like that it's even worst because the cops like the position they're in and being able to get away with anything.

My job is dependent on the police force for the care of mentally ill people. Everyday I see the them risk their lives going into houses to break up domestic disputes, to stop suicide attempts, to calm down psychotic patients, to disarm homicidal people, etc. Not all of them are created equal, but I've met plenty of amazing officers who only have the community's best interest in heart. People get disillusioned thinking that they just shoot unarmed citizens and write speeding tickets. If people took a few steps in their shoes they might be able to empathize a little.

Do taser guns not incapacitate a target? Tranqulizer darts? The point of cops having guns is invalid, unless it's to intimidate, in which case Is an already flawed system.

A cops job is to incapacitate not kill. You stop the threat no erase it.
