He died like a ***** though.

Like he really thought he could double cross Aizen? That's a noob move.

Actually had he done it before Aizen got hit by Isshin's getsuga and transformed he might've been able to kill him for good considering his entire chest blew up from the inside... but then again if the Hogyoku willed it he would've just been revived like he did in the story.

Gin had balls for deceiving Aizen the whole time. I loved it when Aizen seemed to fall to Gin's blade. And then Aizen came back, which was even more awesome.

the manga floundered after his demise, that was when it all went wrong for Kubo *cough serves him right cough*

In truth I thought the storyline for Gin was pathetic for such a wonderful character. In the end, all he did was hurt Matsumoto more than Aizen ever did. It's better to have the person you love than revenge, but then from a writer with the emotional range of a tea spoon what do you expect.

It also made no sense...was horribly tragic and was the beginning of the end for Bleach, with Gin's demise Kubo changed the very fabric of his manga and lost his fan base...

And he did'nt even tap that.
Now that's a truly sad death.

Must confess I liked him more as a bad guy though.

The point of Gin was that he was a snake, and he had allegiance to nobody, only himself. In severing his ties to Matsumoto, he protected her from Aizen and tried to kill him. He loved her, that was his drive.

Yes, but all he did was hurt her. She loved him, she wanted to be with him, she would have rather had him than revenge against silly Aizen. So in the end he lost everything for nothing, the lesson and the power could have been conveyed without his death. I good writer knows how to touch people with more than death.

Maybe it is a guy thing, but no woman would want to loose the man she loves for revenge.
