[Question] Any anime based on real historical events?

Title says it all, any anime based on real life events that happened in the past like The Feudal Japan Era, WWI and WWII, The Medieval Era, anything before and during the 20th Century.

Vagabond. Well, it is a manga, and has no anime.

The story is based on a book that is based on a true story about one of Japan's most legendary Samurais. It is ****ing epic, everyone should read it.

The Legend of Legendary Heroes - Remove the superpowers and magic and it's pretty historical.

"rainbow nisha rokubou no shichinin" is great.

It takes place in Japan after WW2, starts off from 7 young males in prison and their lives.

But if you can not take heavy themes and events that give psychological impacts do not watch it. I do not know how old are you but i wouod not like to rec this anime to a 13 year old, just saying.

HOW COULD I POSSIBLY FORGET THIS.

This is definitely something to watch if you have the mental capacity, it is magnificent.

Edit: The Kara no Kyoukai series is also historical if I remember.

I think you mean 'based on a true story'? Most anime are based on historical events, such as Monster that deals with Germany getting split after WWII. Also Les Misérables: Shoujo Cosette is the adaptation of the famous novel, which depicts the June Rebellion in France of 1832. Most of these though, are entirely fictional and have never happened, but take it's place in real place.​
