When catching Mewtwo you need patience.

First hit him with stat lowering moves, than begin to highten your defenses.

Than try and hit him with hypnosis, so that you can weaken him without recover.

Than of course when he wkes up, he'll use recover, but thats why you need to lower his stats, so recover doesnt work as much.

Once hes back in the red, use hypnosis again, than throw ultra balls, if that doesn't work, prolong the battle as long as possible and use timer balls.

Works for me everytime. No matter what team im using.
This is what I was planning to do but thanks for reassuring me U_U

A Slowbro with Calm Mind, Thunder Wave, Ice Beam and Surf did it just fine for me. It's resistant to Psychic [Once you get a few Calm Minds up it won't do anything at all], Swift won't do jack, and once it was paralyzed, taking it's HP down with a couple of Calm Mind powered Surfs/Ice Beams, and catching it with an Ultra Ball, was a piece of cake.

No need to create a whole team just for catching it.

Yes I read the post. The doggy can be caught with other balls. However, mewtwo is damn near inpossible to catch without the master all.

You obviously didn't. Raikou runs away 1st turn. The Roar glitch also means that if he uses Roar, he runs away forever. Also, I would have no idea when I would encounter Raikou so I would only get one chance. Mewtwo, on the other hand, stays in the same place and I can save the game before fighting him.

Thank you for the idea but I believe that sleep is better. I will, however, try this because it sounds like a good idea.

Sleep may be better, but personally, I find paralysis to be simpler. Not only are most Sleep inducing attacks inaccurate, but you also have to take into account that it's not ever going to be permanent. Not to mention Mewtwo's Safeguard, which makes it even more of a ***** to put to sleep.

I guess so. I have a Jolteon with T-wave and I'll try using Snorlax as a wall. If I get no luck with that, I'll try the strategy I posted.

Using Dusk Balls/Ultra Balls would be your best bet to catch Mewtwo. I suggest Dusk, along with your specific conditions, shouldn't be too hard
