All of the gate opening happened off panel. The manga doesn't need to show things over and over again to make them valid. The techniques cannot be used without opening the gates on the Chakra points. Those floodgates opening is the whole reason why he even can use Gate Techniques.

I suggest you go over to part one and reread the gates explanation. And no, Gate opening is not instant, far from it.

Why do u think Kakashi will need to use Kamui when all u need is great Strategy and kagebunsins(Especialy when u have full knowlage about oponents-Power,Fighting ability,Original attacks,Fighting style........

kagebushin will not work and show me when has kakashi used more than two at one time, Kakashi never had full knowledge of 7 gated Guy only rumors about his technique in the 7th gate. Guy may not be the sharpest tool in the shed but he is no fool in combat. and yes manga says Kakashi is going blind. also seems like Guy has more knowlege on Kakashi than he has of Guy (see Kakashi and Guy vs the tailed beast)

Check the battle record guy single handedly take down more top ninja. And kakashi can't even touch madara once guy doesn't need gate to defeat kakashi why he is still in the battle is because naruto fill him up with chakara twice
