People like you and me like it when a big obstacle is overcome, and to see an obstacle fall apart without much effort is also very pleasing on the eyes to watch.

This is why we liked it when Itachi neg diffed Orchimaru twice or when Madara rinbo hengoku's the tailed beasts or when Bills effortless tore apart ssj3 goku, or when Aizen destroyed the captains or when Shanks made pretty much the entire one piece universe back away by his mere prescence.

We like it when we see great threats that are powerful and seemingly unstoppable be defeated without much effort.

orichimaru made a village freeze with fear killed many kage level opponents and possesed terrifying power, but Itachi effortless defeated him to the point that orichimaru looked like a kid

ssj3 goki is one of the most revered characters in anime iwth countless fanboys drooling over him, but yet two hits from bills and goku was no more.

the captians were seemingly one of the greatest force in bleach, the protected the world from terrifying hallows, but Aizen managed to take them out.

It is cool and entertaining to watch. It shows that the people present are great threats, and can be deadly, they have a silent personality that shows that don't really appear that they want to fight, but when they do watch out because they will destroy you many times over. Moreso Aizen and itachi in that regard but moving on.

another reason why we like these characters is becuase even though they are very flawed and overrated, extremely overrated in some cases is becuase of the notion of that they are almost unbeatable, Shanks doesn't appear that anything in his verse can phase him, and Madara doesn't look he will be defeated any time soon, itachi and aizen used to have that notion about them, while we have never seen ITachi's full potential(aka going all out, since he always held back alot of his power) but the memory of seeing them in those unbeatable states kind of makes you inspired to become like that, to overpower your life's problems, to face your fears and conquer anything in your way.

You want to feel unbeatable and haxed and watching these characters makes yourself feel that way. these characters tangle with the best of the best and always come out on top because they are strong and overpowered, and that is what we as humans want to do, we want to be the best and beat the best.

of course in itachi and Shanks places we are shone what it means to be a hero. Shanks loses his arm to protect luffy and Itachi goes threw years of being hated and shunned for saving the ninja world from global war(he also teaches us the tough lesson of sometimes you have to choose a dark path in order to do what is right, you can't just go around saying, "believe it!" and the world changes, it teaches reality)
