this ain't a bash thread !

Kishi writes this character like a failure who can't get over a little girl and to make it even worse
Rin wasn't in love with him.

that's not the right justification to start a war as far as i know, people like:
Sasuke,Naruto,Madara,Kakashi have more reasons to start a war than Obito.

people need to understand that Obito was a plot device,Kishi gave him Madara's name to give us readers a sense of
danger because nobody would have take him serious if we knew from the start that he was obito.

Madara was always the antagonist of the series, that's why the moment obito took the mask of madara came in to the
story and right after that what happened Tobi became Obito,so for people who say Tobi is better than Madara are
ignorant because Tobi took over madara's personality for a while so if you like Tobi you have to like Madara otherwise
it doesn't make any sense.(he even took his voice for GoD sake)

The only reason Obito is in to the story is because there would be no plot if Madara came first
see what he does in the war, obito started at episode 1 and didn't accomplishe anything O_O

Kishi is just saying Obito was just used for plote and nothing else and to make madara look like a badass

the people who like Tobi should like madara even more, madara said it himself you were supposed to be me

Rin is not the only reason he started the war.

Obito is/was a likable character from the beginning( of course his blabbering got annoying , but think of him without the long ass lectures he is quite cool)

I understand what you are saying. But based on what I have seen so far from madara he isn't nearly as cool as masked obito was. It's as if masked obito was someone else not madara or obito

Maybe kishimoto is somewhat related with obito when he was a kid. That's the only explanation.

Trust me, it is entirely possible to like a character for the pettiest of reasons.

At least Obito has some depth and his story is elaborate enough. I honestly liked him better in his "I am Madara" stage, but it's just the fact that I generally dislike tragic villains.

Obito is pretty much the worst written villain and written character to ever being produced. His background sucked and his reasons for becoming evil, were rather pathetic. His character development, was utterly poor. In fact, his characterization changes every period of time, showing he lacks a definite characterization. I liked him as masked man Tobi, but after that, he became lame and boring. Obito is basically, a shit version of Nagato. The fact he tried to mimic Madara's character shows, how much of a fail he is and that he isn't original. People only likes or once liked him for masked man Obito(like me) or his power.

Madara is better as written character, character development, plot device, villain and Shinobi.

they believe they can connect with him because they're also in the friendzone.

They even claim he's the only real character which is ironic seeing as he'd be classed as mentally ill IRL. which is a person fitting a vast minority

Lots of people can relate to the friendzoned Obito... Plot device or not, he's a good character with some cool jutsu, and he was slowly revealed to us over the course of shippuden. Now to see Obito turn "good" is kind of nice... rather expected, but hey at least there's SOMEONE who can put up an offensive towards Madara. Cuz Minato sure as hell ain't gonna do it :/

Imagine me writting this with these points, but less less harsh. With that...this is exactly how I feel.

His personality. Obito was so young when he "died." He went through a big event. Still, he survived and kept his attitude a few more years and then he saw his best friend kill his other best friend, the girl he loved. Very traumatizing. Through these events, he went insane and with Madara's ideals, formed a new set of beliefs, which were to give everyone their dream, their perfect world. He wanted life to be real because he deamed people fake because they did things out of character, Kakashi killing Rin a perfect example. That's an extremely interesting personality. His world was destroyed and he didn't want to go to war. He offered the Kages a chance to just embrace his ideals. War wasn't his first option. His first option was peace by asking and then he turned to war. He warned everyone what would happen. He told Naruto he couldn't save everyone, which although hardly anyone of relevance has died, Naruto hasn't saved anyone. Obito showed everyone how cruel life was and how better it would be if his plan was to come to fruition. He truly believed in what he was saying. I don't feel that with Madara really. That may just be me, but I don't. Back to Obito, he didn't stop believing in his ideals 100% at all until after he lost the tailed beasts and was defeated. Even now, he still wants to be the guy. A happy go lucky kid went to insanity and back. He just became cold and now it seems he's a bit warmer, since he's helping Naruto. He only accepted Naruto when he lost and was on the brink of dying. Now, he is lucky to be alive and is trying to do what's best, which is still bring peace to the world, just now it's through a different method.

Obito's such an interesting character and that's why I like him.

I could careless about Obito and Madara but this shit^^ makes no sense, I liked Tobi because he was a badass with cool powers (Kamui) a sick character design and an interesting goal, Madara has none of that shit.
