They can really go for summer. The AgK anime announcement was made the same week as Free! season 2 one. The staff from Free said they are definitely going in summer release.
And there's also SAO season 2, which is expected to be in summer too. SAO and Free are strong in terms of fans and rating. So if they want to make AgK succesful, they have to go for a summer release and hit then with all they've got..

But of course we don't know how popular AGK is in Japan , so we don't know how well will it go against those animes during the summer .
But would that be smart of them tho ? debuting against strong animes that already havea strong fanbase ? .........AGK could surprise sure , but most people don't even try an anime they know nothing about :/ ...I personally would go for the fall release with the not so well know animes , that would work better for the popularity IMO.
But of course we don't know how popular AGK is in Japan , so we don't know how well will it go against those animes during the summer .

Well SAO is definitely a juggernaut, you don't want to start something new with a summer blockbuster starting as well. AGK might get over shadowed.

If they want to get known quick and not lose to other anime, they have to get ratings above the "stronger" anime. If they go for fall, they'll end up like KnK..

But I hope is summer too , I'm probably gonna be super busy during the fall & won't be able to enjoy it at it's fullest .
