Can Neji cancel Shikamaru's shadow possession?

Like during the neji vs kidomaru battle, it seems that any jutsu that relies on chakra can be destroyed by chakra, or more specifically, gentle fist.

If Neji were to get possessed by Shikamaru's shadow possession, could he technically cancel it out by pumping out chakra?

I assume that the Nara's shadow possesion jutsu sends chakra to stop your body from moving. So how would Neji be able to cancel it if he can't move? This isn't like the Yamanaka where they can try something with their mind.

I think he means of a scenario where Neji successfully shuts down Shikamaru's chakra, will he then still be able to use Shadow Possession technique.

Well seeing as Hyuugas are able to release chakra from their points and control it better than even Jounin level shinobi, its posssible that they can break it. It may not physically bind them like Kidomaru but its still Chakra and by releasing his own chakra, I would say in his feet more than anywhere else, he may be able to disrupt the flow of it and convert it back to a normal shadow. I would also say thd technique he used against Zetsu could work
