This 'heart' theme is way past redundant now

It's supposed to be inspiring, but it's just redundant to me now. I know they all have hearts and dreams but what would happen if they were crushed? That's what I want to see at least, just so the whole situation feels real and has that tension to it. Naruto's Gary-Sue complex is irritating and I haven't felt the slightest bit of tension.

I don't know about others but this is my opinion.

We won't ever get that it seems.
Seeing them hit real lows, feel like their entire world has just collapsed is something we've only really got to see with one character.

Doesn't seem the rest will go through that, but it is what it is.

We've seen many characters in the Naruto-verse hit lows before to the point of their world had collasped.
When Sasuke was told the truth.
When Naruto found out Jiraiya die.
When we saw Obito's past.
When we saw Gaara's past.
When we saw Kabuto's past
When we saw Nagato's/Konan's past

Of course, they eventually overcome it in predictable ways.

True, but Lee also hit his low too when he was told he wouldn't be a ninja again from the Gaara fight. I think its because most of the characters had hit their lows in the past and we're still going through them when they were introduced and as the story unfolded we eventually saw what made them to be.

That and most of the people in the Naruto verse had a pretty decent life up until the war arc, so it would figure that they wouldn't hit their lows ever. Except maybe Hinata and Neji who was already low in their life to begin with before Neji started caring about her.

I felt sorry for Sasuke, his clan was the world to him and it was taken from him at the age of 10, he's one of the few characters that I genuinely feel sympathy towards.
