Maybe even spamming animal path summons is enough to take down itachi or sending missiles via his robotic path will blow him to smitherins.
There are literally 1000 ways Itachi will lose to Nagato.

1- he soloed orochimaru in 3 sec
2- he soloed deidara in 1 sec
3- he soloed kabuto in few minutes
4- he soloed uchiha clans in 1 hour
5- he soloed nagato in 2sec
6- he soloed kakashi and konoha jounin in 5 sec
