well i agree with here about Rurouni Kenshin and i'd also recommend to watch Darker Than Black,To Aru Majitsu No Index and Da Capo (last one is a romance anime)

I've only seen an episode of the Monster anime but it looks well done so I would recommend that (I'm further on the manga). Basically it's about this amazing surgeon who has great morals. His first struggle is his duty to save lives vs. what everybody else wants him to do (always cure the important ones first), but it turns into something else. A monster has been created. This is the opening OST cause I couldn't find the video ._.

I didn't like that "A Certain Magical Index", but I liked the anime that "Index" came from:

A Certain Scientific Railgun (Toaru Kagaku no Rērugan).
