How does Izuna and Tobirama know each other

The way they called out each others name sounds like they knew each other forever. Howcome Hashi and Madara didn't know each until by the river. Well my guess would be since both fathers lost most of their children, they kept the youngest ones close to them to make sure the family name survives. Somewhere in between Hashi and Madara going by the lake. Tajima and Butsuma fought several times. Leaving them two youngsters to battle it out, whiles learning each others name.

They've fought before, probably through the forest while Tobi and Hashirama were seperated, so he only got to see him.
That or they had Internet during their time.

For the looks of it Tobirama and Izuna may have be part of the ranked forces within each clan, so more than likely they might have met on the battlefield before and possibly have ninja card intel on each other.
Also don't take translations to literally as most of the time the translators try to add personality in the lines and use different words to try to give that effect.

If so why doesn't Madara and Hashirama know each. Madara was said to be a genius by Hashi's dad. Hashirama fought on equal grounds with him. So that means they would be even more ranked than their younger brothers.

We have no idea how strong Hashi and Madara are at this point in time, for all we know they could suck balls.
Just because they fought on (not so equal grounds) when they were older doesn't mean that was the case while they were younger.
