Just wondering what anime of this category was your favorite. For me I'm going to have to go with Higurashi, Phantom for the Requiem, and School Days......definitely School Days.

Ergo Proxy and FMA are good anime when it comes to psychological storylines

I love phantom! I went through so many emotions from that one. Poor Cal.

Anyways, I also liked Elfin Lied although it kind of makes me a little ill in a good way...if that makes sense.

Ok...in the tittle says anime, but I can't help but remember one of the best Psychological manga I've read: Liar game. It only gets better as it goes on :D Akiyama is such a boss ;D

Yeah Elfen Lied was great, ending made me feel empty.

I always hear its good, but for some reason I never follow up on it. Might be due to the old school animation though I'm usually able to look past it.

past it? I'm a huge NGE fan, and I'm telling you: it's super mind-screwing! It hasn't lose its strength after these 17 years (wow, time passes quickly). The production is probably one of the best...
But...I'm not sure if you would like it. NGE is the type of story that you either hate or love. No middle points. There's no room for indifference.

Haha judging from your enthusiasm I'll give it a try sometime, i'm open-minded.

XD I said I'm a huge fan of NGE...I leave you some info here:
-The original 26-episode season was released from 1995 to 1996. [However due the lack of time and budget the last two episodes are not what were suppose to be].Thus there were lots of complainins about the confusing ending arised and then a year later:
-"The end of Evangelion" movie is released [the real 25 and 26 >.>].
______________________________________________________________________
Due its popularity on Japan over the years, Anno Hideaki (the director and writer of most of the plot) decided to re-narrate the story (with no budget neither restrictions xd) in a series of four movies entitled "The Rebuild of Evangelion" -they're getting pretty gud o_o-:
-On 2007 "Evangelion 1.0 You're (not) alone" (this is sort of of a super new ver of the first 6 episodes of the original season).
-"Evangelion 2.0 You can (not) advance" released on 2009 (the thing gets going xd Major differences start to show. The deal starts ).
-"Evangelion 3.0 You can (not) redo" released on 2012 :)T_T:).
-"Evangelion 4.0 FINAL" yet to be released(I can't wait :l).
______________________________________________________________
I recommend to watch the original season first -including the End of Evangelion-, and if you like it, then watch the Rebuild.

Case closed was a good psychological anime for me. It was like a gruesome japenese version of scooby doo. Lol
